T. Norris Haynes (2008)
T. Norris Haynes has spent his entire life in the Jamestown, North Carolina area except for the time he served with the U.S. Air Force including service in Vietnam, after which time he returned to North Carolina and has made it his permanent home. For the next 33 years Norris worked as an engineering draftsman with the city of High Point before retiring in 1999."For as long as I can remember I have had an interest in sports cars. I was fortunate to actually do some sports car racing acquiring a road racing competition license in 1975". Another interest of Norris's was older, propeller driven, aircraft such as J-3 Piper Cubs, Bi-planes and War Birds. He spent time with folks of the same interest actually flying some of these aircraft. In 1999 he combined engineering drawing experience and his love for cars and aircraft into producing artwork of these beautiful and historic machines. He attends carshows, airshows and "fly-ins" every chance he gets and picks subjects to draw and paint. Norris's artwork has been displayed in many publications and catalogs.
